Each stage is independently significant. Achievement at every round is officially recognised.

Round 1
State Qualifier
December 2026
- ✓Held at registered partner schools
- ✓All registered participants compete
- ✓Multiple-choice format (MCQ)
- ✓Results published within 4 weeks of completion
- ✓Top performers advance to Round 2
Round 1 is the entry point for all participants. Schools coordinate sitting arrangements through the National Partner.

National Finals
March 2027
- ✓Conducted at designated National Championship centres
- ✓More challenging open-ended questions
- ✓Individual and analytical assessment format
- ✓National rankings produced per subject and division
- ✓Top performers nominated for Global Round consideration
Round 2 participants are those who qualified from Round 1. National Finals venues are determined by each country's National Partner.

Global Round

June 2027
- ✓Approximately one week of international competition
- ✓Individual assessments, cultural exchange, STEM workshops
- ✓Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded
- ✓Official ceremony and cultural programme
- ✓Participants from all member countries compete together
The Global Round is the pinnacle of the AMSIO cycle — bringing together top performers from every participating country for approximately one week of world-class competition and cultural exchange.

Registration Opens
Registration opens for the State Qualifier through National Partners and amsio.org.
December 2026
Round 1 — State Qualifier
All registered participants sit Round 1 at their school.
4 weeks after R1
Round 1 Results
Scores and achievement tier certificates distributed.
March 2027
Round 2 — National Finals
Qualifiers compete at designated championship centres.
4 weeks after R2
Round 2 Results
National rankings and Global Round nominations communicated.
June 2027
Global Round — United States
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals; opening ceremony, competition, cultural programme.

Who Can Participate
- Students from Grade 1 through Grade 12+
- Computational Intelligence: Grades 3–12+
- Age/grade eligibility per subject division
- No nationality restrictions

Registration
- Registration through a National Partner or member school
- Independent entry available if no National Partner in the student's country
- Deadlines set by each country's National Partner
- Multiple subjects permitted in a single registration

Assessment Rules
- No calculators permitted
- Papers available in English and other languages (subject to National Partner)
- Individual assessment — no collaboration during exam
- Results are final; appeal process available via the organiser
